Our Story

Our Story:

Mahashakti Foundation (MSF) began its journey in 2004, fueled by an unwavering commitment to uplift Odisha’s most vulnerable communities. From humble beginnings with the CASHE project in collaboration with CARE India and DFID, MSF has grown into a force of change, deeply committed to creating pathways to prosperity for those who need it most. This journey of two decades is not just a timeline but a testament to hope, resilience, and transformative impact.

At its core, MSF envisions breaking the cycle of poverty, empowering individuals to overcome hardships and flourish. Today, MSF impacts lives across 17 districts in Odisha and 1 district in Andhra Pradesh, operating in some of Odisha’s most underserved areas and focusing on sustainable livelihood solutions for marginalized groups, including small and marginal farmers, tribal populations, minority and excluded communities, women, youths, and migrant workers.

Our mission rests on four thematic pillars: a) Environment, b) Empowerment, c) Education, and d) Health & Nutrition. These efforts are supported by dynamic partnerships with NABARD, the government of India, various state government departments, such as Shree Anna Abhiyaan, SUDA, OSDMA, and key CSR entities like LTIMindtree, HDFC Bank Parivartan, Reliance Foundation, Aditya Birla Hindalco, Vedanta Ltd, TPCODL, TPWODL, TPNODL, YES Foundation, among others. Together, we create lasting impact through projects that raise the bar of “Inclusive Value Chains.”

Through its diverse projects, MSF is actively contributing to the creation of inclusive value chains, improved income generation, and enhanced well-being. It has promoted 48 FPOs and OFPOs, enabling smallholder farmers and artisans to collectively access markets, improve their bargaining power, and ensure better prices for their produce and products. To date, MSF has touched the lives of over 200,000 households, helping them raise their incomes and build dignified, self-reliant futures.

MSF’s journey is one of service and solidarity with communities, partners, and the collective goal of creating a more just and empowered society.

Mahashakti Foundation visualizes an egalitarian society of justice, economic independence, empowerment, and peace.

Organize the poor, build up their capacities and provide them with access to relevant sustainable livelihood development services with dignity and transparency.
