Art & Craft
Mahashakti is committed to empowering marginalized communities, particularly women and youth, through skill development, entrepreneurship, and cultural preservation. We offer a variety of programs and workshops focused on traditional and contemporary art forms, including painting, dhokra, and pattachitras. These activities not only provide participants with opportunities for creative expression but also serve as a means of generating income and preserving cultural heritage.
In collaboration with Yes Foundation, Tata Power, and Vedanta, Mahashakti is developing handicraft clusters with rural artisans in the districts of Khordha, Kalahandi, and Raygada. We have also promoted a producer company called Kalapunarutham, through which contemporary art and craft products are sold to customers. By facilitating access to training, markets, and resources, Mahashakti enables artisans to showcase their talents, gain recognition for their craftsmanship, and improve their socio-economic status. We foster community cohesion, cultural pride, and the value of artistic expression as a tool for social change and empowerment.
