PROJECT BIJULI DIDI
Mahashakti Foundation with the esteem support of Smart Power India in association with Central Electricity Supply Utility (CESU), Odisha has started Project BijuliDidi in the Jagatsinghpur district. This project is to create employment opportunities for the SHG women of Jagatsinghpur. A set of guidelines has been issued for the selection of Women Self Help Groups & SHG federation for metering, billing and collection of electricity charges from single and three-phase domestic consumers. The selected SHG women would be known as BijuliDidi.
BijuliDidi will have meetings with the electricity consumers of the Gram Panchayat and will discuss regarding advantages of timely payment of electricity bills and grievance redressal system. In a month, one BijuliDidi to cater 1000 consumers according to the geography. In case of any technical issue in meter reading and any other grievances of the consumers, CESU staff will immediately be informed to resolve these issues and provide better services to consumers.
In the monthly Executive Committee meeting, discussion will be held on the issues and challenges faced by BijuliDidi. The member of these executive committee of each villages will support BijuliDidifor meter reading, book keeping, bill collection and payment.
