Goonj – Rahat for Covid-19
A Voice, An Effort
With the waves of migrant workers coming back to the state because of the Corona Crisis, their struggle to survive continues due to lack of earnings. They’re pushed into extreme poverty and hunger. This situation has become ruthless on them and the migrants with their families are literally fighting a War with none left unscathed.
GOONJ, supported the Migrant workers of Pandapadar and Kotabahali village, Mohangiri GP in Kalahandi district of Odisha under its Rahat of Covid-19 Response Program in association with Mahashakti Foundation.
These migrants prepared fields, planted seeds on beds and even cleaned tubewell platforms under Goonj’s Dignity for Work initiative. They received the Essential Household Kits, with dignity, as a reward for their efforts. 30 tribal migrant workers were covered today.
They are going to play a very crucial role in reviving the now collapsed economy of the country. They are the real fighters.
Let’s save their lives and our country.
