Our Story:
Mahashakti Foundation (MSF) began its journey in 2004, fueled by an unwavering commitment to uplift Odisha’s most vulnerable communities. From humble beginnings with the CASHE project in collaboration with CARE India and DFID, MSF has grown into a force of change, deeply committed to creating pathways to prosperity for those who need it most. This journey of two decades is not just a timeline but a testament to hope, resilience, and transformative impact.
At its core, MSF envisions breaking the cycle of poverty, empowering individuals to overcome hardships and flourish. Today, MSF impacts lives across 15 districts in Odisha, operating in some of the state’s most underserved areas and focusing on sustainable livelihood solutions for marginalized groups, including small and marginal farmers, tribal populations, minority and excluded communities, women, and migrant workers.
Our mission rests on eight thematic pillars: a) Sustainable Agriculture & Energy, b) Strengthening tribal livelihoods, c) Skill Building, d) Strengthening CBOs, e) Health & Nutrition, f) Financial inclusion and digital literacy, g) Art & Craft & h) Enterprise Promotion
These efforts are supported by dynamic partnerships with NABARD, various state government departments such as Odisha Millets Mission, SUDA, OSDMA, and key CSR entities like HDFC Bank Parivartan, Vedanta Ltd, TPCODL, TPNODL, among others. Together, we create lasting impact through projects that raise the bar of “Inclusive Value Chains.”
Mahashakti Foundation’s work has helped over 200,000 households increase their income and achieve self-sufficiency, solidifying our promise to make a difference in the community.

Mahashakti Foundation visualizes an egalitarian society of justice, economic independence, empowerment, and peace.
Organize the poor, build up their capacities and provide them with access to relevant sustainable livelihood development services with dignity and transparency.
1. To facilitate need-based support services and interventions in health, education, and the environment for the development of the downtrodden.
2. To accelerate the sustainable development of poor families.
3. To unite poor people through groups to address social security and livelihood issues, reducing poverty and increasing household status and dignity.
4. To achieve socio-economic self-reliance and better livelihoods by creating an enabling environment where poor people can pursue their choice of social, economic, and other related activities.
